Drinking-water safe
Filling tanks with safe-to-drink water

After three years with Aegea, our freshwater system is finally safe for drinking water. Just in time too — we’re leaving for a two-month cruise on Monday, and I wasn’t looking forward to carrying gallons of bottled water!

Here’s what we did:

  1. Emptied and cleaned the tanks
  2. Treated the entire system with bleach
  3. Flushed the system with fresh municipal water
  4. Refilled the tanks using a dedicated drinking-water safe hose and an inline filter
  5. Drank two glasses of water — I didn’t get sick!
